In Spring 2014, four instructors in the College of Business Administration (COBA) in an effort to apply entrepreneurship and creativity education in the classroom, piloted a project which included four classes taught by the ACE Center faculty: Project Management, Family Business Management, Social Entrepreneurship and Staffing, Training and Development.
From this collaboration, the ACE SpACE was born. Every semester, students in one section of MGNT 3165: Management of Organizations operate and manage the ACE SpACE, which is a student-run business.  From a small start-up loan, students choose their merchandise and execute the functions of the organization in teams: Marketing, Sales, Accounting and Human Resources. Every team since 2014 has been successful.

The ACE SpACE allows students the opportunity to enhance their textbook knowledge with hands-on application of that knowledge. Students get to see firsthand, the roles, functions, skills and level of management as they carry out the duties of the ACE SpACE.
